About Ben and Tami

Ben and Tami Moore

Ben Moore grew up in Des Moines, Iowa.  At age 15, he knew he had been called into ministry and began to preach in his home church, where he was actively involved.
Ben went to MidAmerica Nazarene University God called Ben to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where he directed the Chi Alpha Youth Center.  The center started from scratch, and in the next 18 months many miracles were observed.  There were over 400 teens that heard the gospel, with over 40 making first time commitments.
Although Ben loved Chi Alpha, he felt more and more that preaching was God’s calling for his life.  He then pastored the Atlantic, Iowa, Church of the Nazarene for 13 months, before heading to Kansas City.
In Kansas City, he has attended Nazarene Theological Seminary, and was ordained in July 2000.  Ben is a registered evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene.  He has served as the youth pastor in a number of churches, including Nixa, MO; and Washington, Iowa, New Oaks church.  He has also ministered in Romania, Norway, Sweden, and Guyana.  He has preached in many states, at revivals, camps, retreats and cross-cultural situations.  He has also served as the Media minister for Springfield Community Church.
Ben served as an equipment manager for the MNU Football team, and helped the Kansas City Chiefs Football team on home game days as a manager and as an assistant to the Chiefs Chaplain.
Tami grew up in Nampa, ID and was a part of numerous missions trip while in the youth group at Nampa First church.  She attended NNU for one year before moving to Oregon City, OR where she became part of the church.  She continued to travel on Work and Witness trips and sensed God’s call on her life into the mission field.  Tami received a Speech Language degree from Portland State University in 2003 with the hopes of being able to use it in missions.
In 2002, Ben and Tami met on eharmony.com.  After communicating via web for moths, they met in person in the beginning of 2003.  As their relationship grew, God made it clear that His best plans were for them to be in ministry together.  Tami moved to Iowa, and in 2004, they were married.
In 2005, Ben and Tami moved to Springfield, Missouri so Tami could obtain her Master’s degree in Speech Pathology.  While there, they became a part of the Potter’s House, a Nazarene Student Ministry to Missouri State University.  Ben became the president of the Board of Directors.
While in Springfield, Tami gave birth to two sons, Bretton (2006) and Teegan (2008).  Tami also received her degree and began work as a Speech Therapist.  In 2008, Ben and Tami began to sense that God was moving them.  As they prayed, the only place that brought peace was Boise, Idaho, with the hopes of emulating the Potter’s House and starting a ministry to Boise State University.  They moved to Boise in November of 2008 on a step of faith trusting that God would provide, lead, direct, and show them their new mission field.
